Weather maps have gone “rainbow-coloured” as a giant wave of snow and rain is ready to batter the midlands and south England.
WXCharts has forecast there will be snow in Wales, across Birmingham and into Norfolk. It will be heaviest in south Wales, where it could reach 4cm an hour.
From Devon to Kent, there will be heavy rain. It could reach up to 8mm an hour in the southeast.
Temperatures will drop to as low as -5C in northwest Scotland, with most of the country set to see minus temperatures.
England will see -1C in the north and 6C in the south, with Wales and Northern Ireland to see around 0C.

Tonight it will be mild and generally cloudy in the south with patchy rain and drizzle in the west.
It will be clearer and feeling fresher in the north with showers across western Scotland, staying windy in the north, with gales in places.
Saturday will stay mostly cloudy and mild in the south with patchy rain mostly in the west. It will be brighter with sunny spells elsewhere with showers across western Scotland and windy in the north.

Next week, it will be initially unsettled with cloud and rain across a still mild south whilst clearer and colder conditions across the north with some wintry showers in the far north.
Rain is likely to push back north late in the week with the potential for snow for a time across the northern edge of this alongside gusty winds.
Through the weekend a change toward a north or north-westerly wind will bring cold conditions spreading across the UK with wintry showers across coasts but clearer inland as rain clears in the south.
Temperatures will potentially recover to average with this, though any prolonged clear skies are liable to bring localised frosts and fog risk.
