Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 'need to' make peace with royals to secure Hollywood win

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “need to” reconcile with senior members of the Royal Family if they want to succeed in Hollywood, a royal expert has warned.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been effectively estranged from the monarchy since they stepped down in March 2020.

They have both returned to the UK to attend important family events, including the late Queen’s funeral last year, communication with the royals has been scarce – a situation exacerbated by their multiple attacks on the Royal Family.

Last month, the couple became involved in a new scandal following the release of Omid Scobie’s biography Endgame.

Speculation has arisen about the pair contributing to the project after the Duchess previously collaborated with Scobie and his colleague Carolyn Durant on their Finding Freedom.

Meghan and Harry have not addressed the claims the author has made, with expert Kinsey Schofield warning the pair appear to be “too close to Endgame” for the family to forgive them.

And she suggested the ongoing feud is causing considerable obstacles to the couple’s Hollywood plans.

She told GB News: “Deadline recently ran a report that said that Meghan was specifically struggling through WME to secure brand deals, and that the agency was really scratching their head around how to manage Meghan’s brand.

“With so much animosity towards the Royal Family coming from the Sussexes, people like Dior that were rumoured to be working with Meghan previously, had recently dressed Queen Camilla.

“And on top of that, recently named the young woman playing Kate Middleton in the Crown as their new face of Dior. It’s not Meghan, it’s Kate from the Crown that’s the new face of Dior.

“So when we talk about Harry and Meghan eager to reconcile this holiday season, how do you not acknowledge the fact that there are similar reports that Harry and Meghan need to reconcile with the Royal Family so that they can try to navigate in Hollywood?”

The To Di For Daily founder however cast doubts on whether Harry and Meghan’s efforts to reconcile are genuine despite admitting it is likely the Duke misses his family.

She added: “Unfortunately I do. I think that there are elements to Prince Harry, I do think he truly misses his family.

“I don’t think, and Omid Scobie’s book said this too, that Meghan has any desire to return to the UK to patch things up. She would like to utilise the platform that they gave her to monetise this fame or infamy.

“I do think Harry is likely very lonely and misses his family and misses the chaos that surrounds those fun Christmases. But for Meghan, I think it’s mostly financial.”
