Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have 'more experience' than two royals tipped for promotion

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have “more experience” than two royals tipped for promotion, sources have claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from royal duties at the start of 2020, having lived in the US ever since.

Reminiscing on the couple’s royal past, sources claimed that the pair are the “only available members of the family with any real experience of public duty”.

This comes after Princess Beatrice, 35, and Princess Eugenie, 33 – two nieces of King Charles – have been tipped to receive a royal promotion.

Royal commentators have suggested that Beatrice and Eugenie could step up and help their uncle with duties – particularly after his recent cancer diagnosis.

Royal historian Marlene Koenig told Express.co.uk: “Why not have some of these patronages given to Beatrice and Eugenie? Of course, it would be up to the princesses. Part-time working royals.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle performed their final royal engagement in March 2020, just two months after their shock announcement.

The pair soon moved to America to begin a new life there with their young son, Prince Archie. They then welcomed their second child and first daughter Princess Lilibet into the world in June 2021.

Harry arrived in the UK on February 6 to visit his father at Clarence House. The King’s cancer diagnosis was revealed on Monday, with Harry soon making a trip to be by his father’s side. Meghan Markle, however, remained in the US with their two children.

The Duke had a 45-minute meeting with his dad King Charles, which resulted in sources claiming there was a “cause for optimism” after the brief meeting.
