The first round of the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York, is set to tee off on Thursday morning and weather could be a bit of a concern for golfers and fans this weekend.
Forecasts in the area indicate cold temperatures and gusty winds might be the primary worry earlier in the tournament, with a possibility of rain on Saturday.
The chance of rain will be nothing new for the world’s best golfers, who slogged through a wet weekend at Augusta National during last month’s Masters tournament.
Western New York’s weather is notoriously unpredictable this time of year, so some of these details could change, but here’s a look the the forecast for this year’s PGA Championship, as of Wednesday morning.
Wednesday: Practice round
The final day for practice rounds could bring the coldest temperatures of the week. After lows dip into the 30s on Tuesday night, the high on Wednesday will struggle to reach the mid-50s, National Weather Service forecasts show.
