‘Bruised’ Meghan Markle ‘desperate to have her say’ in face of growing backlash

Meghan Markle is “desperate to have her say” after the release of the bombshell book, Endgame, a royal author has claimed.

Tom Bower said that the backlash the book has received has left the Duchess of Sussex “bruised” and has pushed her to pen her own memoir.

Speaking to Closer, he said: “As she feels more and more bruised as the year goes on, Meghan is going to want to have her say.

“Whereas Scobie was a disaster, she’s going to want to correct the impressions that she collaborated on the book.

“Meghan and Harry’s desperation will only get worse in the new year.”

Endgame, by Omid Scobie, has been described as a “gratuitous attack” on Princess Kate and included allegations of the Royal Family “treating Kate like a child” and likening her to a “Stepford-like royal.”

The Dutch edition of the book also accused two members of the Royal Family of expressing concern over the skin colour of the Sussexes children, supposedly named by the Duchess in private letters to the King.

The Daily Express has chosen not to name the two members of The Firm at the heart of the alleged ‘royal racism’ scandal.

Meghan and Harry have not spoken out about the book or denounced its contents but Mr Bower said he has “no doubt” that Meghan “fed” Mr Scobie the names.

But despite claims the Duchess of Sussex might release her own memoir, royal expert Phil Dampier told Fabulous that “redemption” for the couple is unlikely.

He added: “Meghan will probably relaunch herself with some sort of lifestyle business similar to Gwyneth Paltrow, and let’s hope she goes down that route rather than writing her own book, which would be another bombshell for all concerned.

“She is clearly planning big things for herself, maybe in film or TV production, or even some acting.”
