Beyoncé brought Juneteenth to her fashion-forward Renaissance tour.
The acclaimed singer-songwriter, who is performing on a world tour in support of her seventh album “Renaissance,” used her Sunday concert in Amsterdam to pay tribute to the Black history holiday Juneteenth. Known as America’s Second Independence Day, Juneteenth is a federally recognized observance that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.
To mark the holiday, Beyoncé wore a series of glamorous ensembles entirely made by Black designers for the Amsterdam concert, including a pair of outfits created by Ferragamo creative director Maximilian Davis.
“In honor of Juneteenth, everything I wore for Renaissance World Tour tonight was created exclusively by Black designers,” the singer wrote on Instagram on Sunday.
Davis dressed the singer in a striking red, bead- and crystal-embroidered dress, as well as a silver lamé jersey draped mini dress and matching thigh-high boots.
“It was an honor to create (these) looks for Beyoncé and be a part of her creative process,” Davis said in a statement. “I wanted to design pieces that felt like they inhabited her spirit and style.”

Beyoncé rocks ‘robo couture’ with futuristic Balmain bodysuit
Beyoncé gave fans a hearty dose of “robo couture,” hitting the stage in a futuristic, silver-armored bodysuit designed by Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing. The designer and Beyoncé previously collaborated on a 16-piece Renaissance Couture line corresponding to the 16 tracks included on her latest album.
Rousteing gushed over the final look and Beyoncé’s Juneteenth tribute in an Instagram post Monday.
“This tour is a revolution. Thank you for supporting us and bringing all the creatives through your beautiful journey around the world,” Rousteing wrote. “Your vision is beyond. I love you.”
The “Cuff It” singer, whose fanbase has been affectionately named the Beyhive, channeled her inner queen bee in a second custom-made Balmain bodysuit. The suit, also designed by Rousteing, featured alternating patches of yellow and black and was topped off with a matching, saucer-shaped hat.
“This was the celebration,” Rousteing wrote in a follow-up post Monday. “It has been tough, it has been hard, and change would never happen without you pushing since day one to make a better future where we can all express our creativity.”

Beyoncé kept the fashion party going during her Renaissance show, gracing the stage in a metallic “shattered glass” catsuit made by designer LaQuan Smith. The singer finished the look with a glittering silver coat inspired by Rousteing’s Balmain fall-winter collection, which she wore while riding a disco-mirrored horse statue onstage.
“You look so stunning!” Smith commented on Beyoncé’s Instagram post Monday. “I’m so happy the jumpsuit came to life in the most epic way. What an honor to have you wear my design.”
Beyoncé gives first look at new Ivy Park collection with disco-inspired beach dress
Beyoncé got in on the Black sartorial magic herself during her Juneteenth tribute, unveiling a shimmery, bubble gum pink halter dress from an upcoming swim collection by her clothing line Ivy Park.
“I started designing this collection over a year ago. I was so engulfed in all things ‘Renaissance’ and was inspired by Studio 54, Bob Mackie and the disco era,” Beyoncé wrote on Instagram Monday. “I wanted to do a modern twist using the signature Ivy Park neon and bring disco to the beach in this swim collection.”
The added significance of debuting the Ivy Park look in honor of Juneteenth was also a point of pride for the singer.
“I’m proud to be among the very talented Black designers featured in last night’s show to celebrate Juneteenth,” she wrote.
