Queen's Brian May pays sweet tribute to Doctor Who star wife on her birthday


Legendary Queen guitarist Brian May has marked his wife Anita Dobson’s birthday with a sweet remark on Instagram. The former EastEnders star, who will soon be seen in the new series of Doctor Who, turned 75 on April 29.

While she celebrated on the day with a dinner in Scott’s restaurant in Mayfair with friends, including Carol Vorderman and Duncan Bannatyne, she began her birthday celebrations before that. Brian, 76, revealed they had enjoyed an early birthday meal with close family.

Taking to the social media sharing site he shared a pictur of abeaming Anita holding a plate with Happy Birthday Anita written on it in sauce. He captioned it: “Lady May today at early birthday dinner with close family. 35 if she’s a day …”

Brian’s fans also jumped into the comments to wish her well on her special day. @radio.gabba gushed “Wishing Anita a very happy birthday! 75 and absolutely stunning. Anita is such a beautiful, talented woman, and a huge inspiration for many. Sending lots of love to Anita, Bri, and the rest of the family.”

@mariasavemefriend3d opined: “Anita looks 35 and I feel like I’m 35!! Sounds like an age we all want to be !! Happy Birthday Anita.”

@concha_q said: “So lovely and sweet Lady May, Anita Dobson.A picture of happiness . Congratulations Mrs. Dobson from the bottom of my heart. Thank you very much fir sharing it dear Brian @brianmayforreal.”

@ginnysbigsis complimented the star writing: “Beautiful Anita Her smile radiates Spring and her face just glows. Spring is a magical time to be born.”

@mrbr14h was clearly a fan chiming in: “We need more lady May! (if she doesn’t mind of course!) happy birthday with lots of love and respect! Xxx.”

Meanwhile @grandma_dalby added: “You are so lucky to have this gorgeous lady as your wife but I’m sure you know that already! Bless you both, and Happy Birthday Lady May!”

Brian has only recently returned from Japan where he was touring with Queen and Adam Lambert.

Meanwhile Anita has also been kept incredibly busy after making her Doctor Who debut in the festive special.

She played the mysterious Mrs Flood it has been confrmed that she will appear in the upcoming series.

Both Brian and Anita attended a recent premiere screening for the show but fans will have to wait until May 11 to see the new episodes and how Anita’s character fits in to the Whoniverse.
