Alabama firefighter dies days after 'targeted attack' on Birmingham fire station

One of two Brimingham, Alabama firefighters who were shot on Wednesday has died

Jordan Melton died Monday, five days after what police are investigating as a “targeted attack.”

Melton had graduated from the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Recruit Academy one month ago

“My heart is hurting today,” Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin wrote in a statement. “Jordan was a vibrant young brother who was full of life. He loved to talk sports as much as he loved good barbecue.”

According to WVUA23, the other firefighter shot, Jamal Jones, is in serious condition.
