Yungblud’s Ozzy Osbourne tribute to Prince of Darkness | UK | News

Ozzy Osbourne’s death has sent shockwaves across the globe, with one musician who had formed a close bond with the legendary rocker being Yungblud.

The 27 year old artist, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, had even made a surprise appearance at Ozzy’s recent Back to the Beginning farewell concert.

Following the devastating news of the Prince of Darkness’ passing, he turned to social media to post a gut-wrenching tribute.

He shared two black and white photographs of the duo together before the Villa Park performance, showing the moment he presented Ozzy with a special necklace.

Yungblud penned: “I didn’t think you would leave so soon the last time we met you were so full of life and your laugh filled up the room.”, reports the Mirror.

“But as it is written with legends, they seem to know the things that we don’t. I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage.”

He continued: “Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own. You asked me once if there was anything you could do for me and as I said then and as I will say now for all of us the music was enough. You took us on your adventure – an adventure that started it all.”

The performer concluded by declaring: “I am truly heartbroken. You were the greatest of all time.”

As some of the world’s most renowned rock bands descended on Villa Park, Birmingham, aiming to make Ozzy’s final performance with Black Sabbath unforgettable on 5 July, Yungblud was among them. He delivered a stunning rendition of Changes on stage before Ozzy’s grand entrance.

Backstage, he took a moment to meet Ozzy, sharing a touching moment together. During this time, he presented the rock legend with a unique gift amidst sound checks.

He said to Ozzy: “I made you something,” as he handed over a large wooden box. “Obviously you gave me your cross and I wanted to return the favour, so I made you something.”

Ozzy opened the box and exclaimed: “Oh my god, that is f***ing unbelievable.”

Yungblud showed his own necklace, revealing he has never removed it since Ozzy gifted it to him, and chose to present Ozzy with another necklace “to return the favour”.

Today, less than three weeks after his farewell concert with Black Sabbath, Ozzy’s family announced the star had passed away at the age of 76. His wife Sharon Osbourne and four of his children issued a joint statement sharing the heartbreaking news.

Ozzy’s family stated that he was “surrounded by love” when he passed away this morning. The statement was signed by Sharon, 72, whom he married in 1982, and their three children Aimee Osbourne, Jack Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne.
