Wild moment Ukrainian sniper takes out Russian soldier from nearly a kilometre away

This is the dramatic moment a hawk-eyed Ukrainian sniper takes out a Russian soldier from almost a kilometre away.

The video, captured by the rifle’s scope, shows the soldier aiming at his target using thermal detection before shooting the barely visible figure from 900 metres away.

In the clip the sharpshooter is seen getting the distant target between their crosshairs before pulling the trigger and apparently flooring the Russian soldier in one hit.

Ukraine’s armed forces said in a statement: “The distance is 900 metres, on the street – 20 Minus the occupier.”

It’s not the first time Ukrainian snipers have struck targets from extraordinary distances during the conflict.

A sharp shooter in Volodymyr Zelensky’s forces set a new world record for effective shots after taking down a Russian soldier from 2.3 miles away.

The record shot was fired by Horizon’s Lord, a six-foot Ukrainian multi-calibre antimaterial sniper rifle.

It comes as Ukrainian drone strikes targeted critical energy infrastructure, with a massive fire has reportedly broken out at Klintsy oil depot, in the Bryansk region.

Footage of a thick plume of dark smoke engulfing Klintsy has circulated on Russian Telegram channels.

The Russian Ministry of Defence reported the drone was shot down which sparked the inferno.

Alexander Bogomaz the Governor of Bryansk Oblast said: “The unmanned aircraft was neutralised by electronic warfare assets of the Russian Ministry of Defence.

“During the destruction of the aerial target, there was an unintended release of ordnance in the area of the Klintsy oil depot.

“Early reports indicate that there are no casualties. Fires have been reported in the damaged reservoirs.”

According to local media reports, 13 fire trucks had to be deployed to fight the blaze.

Elsewhere in the conflict, insane footage showed the moment a Russian soldier was sent flying into the air for 10 seconds after a Ukrainian drone blew up one of Putin’s tanks.

The video, posted on Reddit channel UkraineWarVideoReport, shows the Russian vehicle caught in the crosshairs of an airborne craft, with the movements of a person visible from the sky.

Seconds later there is a huge explosion as burning shrapnel from the tank is sent skyward as fire envelops the screen.

As the flames recede, the smoking, detached turret of the tank is seen rising up and spinning down to earth.

Around 10 seconds later, a figure is seen plummeting to the ground as black smoke billows into the sky.
