Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game gathers the best collection of talent every year for one night.
It’s a who’s-who of stars under one roof at T-Mobile Park on Tuesday (FOX, 8 p.m. ET) in Seattle.
Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge and Nolan Arenado are perennial All-Stars, but this Midsummer Classic also features a gaggle of up-and-coming stars on the American and National League rosters.
As expected, many of the highest-paid players will be participating in the exhibition, but it also includes 33 first-timers, some of which are making close to the league minimum.
There are three starters − Adolis Garcia, Josh Jung and Jonah Heim − on the AL team making less than $1 million, courtesy of the Texas Rangers. Garcia and Austin Hays of the Baltimore Orioles replaced two of baseball’s highest-paid players − Mike Trout and Aaron Judge − who are out because of injury. Conversely, only three starters on the NL team are making less than $5 million.
