First, there was Tom Seaver.

Tom Terrific and his four-seam fastball burst onto the scene in Queens in 1967, when the right-hander won NL Rookie of the Year. Two years later, he helped lead the Mets to their first World Series title with the first of his three Cy Young seasons.

Then there was Dwight Gooden.

Doc made his debut at just 19, with the ‘K Korner’ there from the start.
