UK’s five most popular electric cars unveiled with Toyota, Kia and Tesla storming ahead

Toyota Prius Plug-In

The brand-new Prius Plug-In hybrid model also combines a combustion engine with electric technology.

As a Plug-In Hybrid, the Prius has a “significantly higher capacity battery” and a greater EV range than other hybrid models.

According to Toyota, the model is capable of carrying drivers 53 miles on pure battery charge.

But, the main benefits come in its Hybrid mode when the car seamlessly switches between its petrol engine and EV battery.

The car is also fitted with an intuitive Hybrid Coaching feature which uses technology to maximise the amount of time spent in battery-electric EV mode.

This helps motorists save on their petrol usage and will improve fuel consumption in a major boost.
