The sweet reason why Prince William will take a short break from royal duties next week

“He [made] a return to duties on Wednesday, but you should not expect to see him again for a bit after that.”

William is not expected to undertake any engagements this week because it is half term for the children, so he’ll be looking after them while they are off school.

The Prince of Wales yesterday attended an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle in the morning and London Air Ambulance’s annual fundraising gala in the evening.

William revealed to one of the MBE recipients that Kate has been looked after by two “amazing and kind” Filipino nurses.

Patricia Spruce, who was made an MBE for her work recruiting foreign medics for the NHS, wrote on her LinkedIn page: “Prince William said that Catherine had two Filipino nurses looking after her and they were amazing and kind.”

During his speech later in the day, the heir to the throne spoke about his family’s health scares in public for the first time.

William also thanked the public for their “kind messages of support”.

He said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the kind messages of support for Catherine and for my father, especially in recent days. It means a great deal to us all.”
