A woman has been arrested after a six-year-old boy was stabbed in the back.
The incident took place in Whiston in Merseyside where the boy was taken to hospital where he remains with his condition unknown.
Following the stabbing, a 33-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of assault.
Merseyside Police are currently carrying out an investigation in the area.
