Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been savaged by a royal expert who claimed their reputation in the UK has reached “rock bottom”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have seen their popularity plunge even further recently with Meghan ranking as the second-least popular member of the Royal Family in a ranking created by pollster YouGov in its rolling popularity chart.
It comes as recent reports claimed the pair had hired a UK-based PR executive to help bolster their image in Britain amid their efforts to branch out their rebrand in the country.
Veteran royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News: “Now that [being Meghan’s PR ‘guru’ in the UK] is a Sisyphean challenge. Really, it is. To be fair, she’s always done something on International Women’s Day, regarding herself as a feminist, there’s no doubt that what she says gets a tremendous amount of coverage, but not necessarily favourable coverage.
“But if she’s seeking to rehabilitate her reputation here and in Europe, I simply don’t see it. The Sussexes are far, far less popular in the States, but as far as Britain is concerned they’ve been at rock bottom for a very long time. For four years they’ve caused enormous problems for the Royal Family and people simply don’t forget that.”
