Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle told 'no hope in hell' of royal return

The idea of Prince Harry coming back to London to help out with royal duties in King Charles’s time of need has been knocked back almost immediately by a royal expert. Rebecca English, the Daily Mail’s royal editor, said there was “not a hope in hell” of such a notion coming to fruition.

She made the glaring admission on the Daily Mail show, Palace Confidentials, when she was asked if this could be the case. She responded: “Not a hope in hell, simply.” She went on to add that a story had first appeared in The Times, which she believed to be “heavily briefed” by Harry’s side.

Chatting on the show, she added: “It was effectively saying he would be keen to come back into the frame to undertake more royal duties while his father was ill. And, obviously, the Princess of Wales is not well either. It also seemed to suggest there was a tassit suport for the idea here [the palace]

“That immediately rang alarm bells with me because I just know it is not their thing – so I made some calls and was told almost immediately ‘absolutely not’, there has not even been a casual conversation about that here.”
