Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will “exploit every situation” to avoid commenting on the recent health issues of the two senior members of the Royal Family, a royal insider has claimed. Princess Kate underwent abdominal surgery last week and King Charles will take treatment for a benign prostate, it was officially confirmed.
However, since then, there has been complete silence from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have not issued any statement on the health of both royals. Both of them were seen at a movie premiere in Jamaica.
Shortly after this, the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, then revealed she has been diagnosed with malignant melanoma, a form of skin cancer.
Royal commentator, Lady Colin Campbell raised concerns about the Sussexes not publicly acknowledging the health issues of those in Britain, saying the situation “stinks to high heaven”.
She told GB News: “All they needed to do was make some public declaration. But they are not going to, they can exploit every situation as long as they don’t make a public declaration. The whole thing stinks to high heaven.”
Royal commentator Phil Dampier joined the conversation, suggesting that the couple is probably “concerned” about health matters back home. However, as the couple has not publicly acknowledged these issues, Dampier believes that their image is deteriorating the longer they remain silent.
He told GB News: “If they had made a public declaration, there would be a certain sympathy for them. There might have been private contact. I’m sure they are worried.
“They haven’t made anything public and I think that is the contrast, they are enjoying themselves and probably went to the premiere via private jet. It does look like they are swanning about and enjoying themselves when there is real concern for many members of the Royal Family.”
The Sussexes also posed with Marlene Malahoo Forte, Jamaica’s minister for legal and constitutional affairs.
She said Jamaica could soon “sever ties” with the monarchy last year, adding it was time for the nation’s future to be in “Jamaican hands”.
