Princess Kate’s ‘subtle and timeless' trick when dressing Prince George and Prince Louis

Princess Kate has made a ‘subtle choice’ by dressing Prince George differently from his younger brother Prince Louis according to a style expert. The two brothers were dressed slightly differently at the Princess of Wales’ annual carol concert last month.

While George wore smart black shoes, Louis was wearing blue suede boots. Soon after, on the Christmas Day walk at Sandringham, the two brothers were also seen walking side by side by side but wearing very different outfits.

According to a style expert, there is a reason why Princess Kate, 42, dresses her sons both smartly and slightly differently.

Bella Hignett told GB News it was a combination of royal tradition and a desire on the part of Kate to help her children be “timeless”.

Ms Hignett said: “Kate dresses the two princes in suits as this is traditionally what the royals have done. They, like their parents, need to dress appropriately for the events they attend.”

Ms Hignett added that outside of the formal events, the children can wear less formal clothes, but that Kate “tends to favour them in navy” because it looks “extremely smart”.

On Prince Louis’ style, Ms Hignett added that he wears slightly different clothes and that Kate dresses her children “in a classic timeless way, rather than in clothes that draw attention to them”.

Ms Hignett’s comments come as speculation grows over the fate of Kate’s eldest child, Prince George, and where he will next go to school.

The Waleses are reportedly considering sending him to Marlborough College in Wiltshire instead of Eton College.

Should he attend Marlborough College, it is believed it would put the young prince and future heir to the throne in a much more diverse crowd.

The college, a £47,000 a year co-ed school, is just over an hour from Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Estate where William and Kate live.

It was originally believed that Prince George would attend Eton just as Prince William and Prince Harry did, but his place at the school has not yet been confirmed.

Prince William attended Eton in 1995, becoming the first senior member of the Royal Family to do so. He was followed three years later by Prince Harry.

By attending Eton College, William broke a royal tradition that saw his father King Charles, and grandfather Prince Philip attend Gordonstoun in Scotland. Meanwhile, Princess Diana’s father and brother had both attended Eton.

According to Town and Country, William was protected from the media during his time at Eton. John Wakeham said at the time: “Prince William is not an institution; nor a soap star; nor a football hero.

“He is a boy: in the next few years, perhaps the most important and sometimes painful part of his life, he will grow up and become a man.”
