Princess Kate's commitment to the country and royal duty shown in hospital statement

Kate, the Princess of Wales, is currently in The London Clinic hospital after planned abdominal surgery and will remain an in-patient for up to two weeks.

Kensington Palace confirmed the news in a lengthy statement, which highlighted just how work-focused the future Queen is.

The final sentence states that Kate “wishes to apologise” for cancelling her planned engagements, as the royal is unlikely to return to work until after Easter.

It reads: “The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”

Such a statement speaks volumes about Kate’s commitment to royal duty and her country, as she is thinking of others even when she is in a hospital bed.

This should come as no surprise as Kate has worked diligently for the Royal Family ever since she entered the fold.

She carries out dozens of visits each and every year and has undertaken pioneering work on the Early Years.

The fact she is thinking about others after undergoing surgery that requires up to 14 days in hospital recuperations just proves that Prince William chose the perfect royal bride.

Kate will not carry out any public engagements for several months, and Kensington Palace said she will likely not be seen until after Easter. This year Easter falls slightly early, with Easter Sunday falling on March 31.

The royals all come out in force for the Christian holiday, and usually celebrate at Windsor Castle and attend a church service at St George’s Chapel.

But it is too early to know whether Kate will join her family for the service this year.

Prince William has also cancelled engagements scheduled for the coming weeks, as he focuses on Kate’s recovery and looking after their three children. He will likely return to royal duties once Kate is comfortable at home.

Their planned international trips, such as their one to Rome, will be rescheduled.
