Princess Kate's £1.4k-a-year tennis club hit by two 'inappropriate behaviour' cases

Kate, the Princess of Wales’s tennis club has been rocked by two “inappropriate behaviour” cases this week, it has been claimed. The £1,400-a-year Hurlingham club is a self-proclaimed “green oasis” in Fulham, where the royal takes Prince George for tennis lessons.

The club has long cultivated a sparkling reputation but was recently rocked by incidences of unacceptable conduct.

The Mail claims that club patrons received a ‘grim’ warning about their conduct following two incidents, one of which involved comments of a “sexual nature”. One “senior member” was also identified by staff.

Mr Eden reported that a “conduct committee” was set up to combat “numerous” cases of “unacceptable” behaviour at the club last week, with the latest incident prompting action from said committee.

Members received an emailed memo entitled “Formal Reprimand – Rule 22” that was also displayed in person on a club notice board detailing the latest case of inappropriate behaviour.

The notice stated that a “senior member” was reprimanded for “conduct deemed to be discreditable”.

And it added the member in question – who was not named – had made comments “of a sexual nature” to a fellow member.

The note read: “A senior member has been issued a formal reprimand for conduct deemed to be discreditable as laid out in Rule 22 IV B.”

It added: “The member made inappropriate comments of a sexual nature to a fellow member while in the sauna.”

The second incident, Mr Eden said, resulted in one of the club’s members being banned because of their behaviour.

The editor said someone had told him: “Someone has been banned because of inappropriate behaviour.”

The incidents have taken some club patrons by surprise, with one saying Hurlingham has “always been really tame” and that the sauna has always been open to all ages and genders.

Express.co.uk has approached the Hurlingham club for comment.
