Princess Kate urged by royal fans to handle photo editing controversy like Meghan Markle

Princess Kate has been subjected to scrutiny after admitting to editing a Mother’s Day photo she shared, but royal fans believe she should take a page out of Meghan Markle’s book to put an end to speculation.

International news agencies issued “kill notices” on the allegedly photoshopped image featuring Princess Kate alongside her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

As the row threatens to escalate, many suggest that releasing the unedited version of the photo could quell the controversy.

Seasoned royal observers will recall a similar incident involving the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who faced allegations of editing their 2019 Christmas card.

Concerns arose when Meghan’s face appeared more sharply focused than other elements in the background.

Princess Kate apologised “for any confusion caused” over the picture, and wrote in a statement: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.

“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.”

Royal commentator Jennie Bond told GB News Princess Kate “must feel under intense pressure now whenever she’s going to be seen in public” after her major surgery in January.

She cautioned against “bullying her into putting out all the images”, adding that the 42-year-old mother-of-three would be feeling “absolutely miserable”.

“We are in danger of bullying a lady who is trying to recover from a very serious operation. I think of how she must be feeling this morning. Absolutely miserable, I think,” she added.

“Her Mother’s Day was obviously ruined by this row. She was photographed yesterday in the car with William. From what we can see, she didn’t look that happy, she must feel under intense pressure now whenever she’s going to be seen in public.

“The pressure has doubled and redoubled. I think she’s in a fragile mental and physical state. And we should lay off her.”
