Princess Kate praised for resting after surgery – something 'we can all learn from'

A former patient at the London Clinic where Kate, Princess of Wales, is currently recovering from a planned abdominal operation says “we can all learn” from her stay.

The Princess of Wales is currently recovering from the successful operation at the London Clinic where she is expected to remain for up to 14 days.

Kate will not be taking part in official engagements until after Easter but it is thought she is still doing some work from her hospital bed.

Prince William is currently holding down the fort at Adelaide Cottage having cleared his diary, but is still making time to visit his wife every day.

And a former patient says her recovery period is something the country could “learn from”. They told People magazine: “It is sensible to take the time.

“That is a great example to the rest of us, as you’re often told to get back to work as soon as possible, which can be damaging.

“It is good for all of us to see her taking the time, recovering properly and then coming back. We can all learn from that.”

The former patient also told the magazine Kate was in “great hands” at the hospital and would be back on her feet as soon as possible.

They added: “The physical therapists are amazing, helping you recover and get back on your feet. After abdominal surgery, you need a lot of patience, and it’s a bit scary at first.”

It comes after a source close to the royal household told GB News the long period out made the hospital trip “sound serious”.

They said: “It does sound serious with the length of time [she’s taking].

“But she is in great hands and will have lots of care and support at home and is a fit young woman. I am sure she will bounce back.”

It comes after another former patient told the Express the London Clinic was “like the Ritz”.

They said: “I had no complaints at all and I shouldn’t imagine Kate would either – but then, she’s probably used to staying in places like that.”
