A woman who has impersonated Princess Kate professionally for 12 years has hit out at the “crazy” rumours that claim she is in the footage with Prince William visiting the Windsor Farm shop instead of the Princess of Wales herself.
Recent footage and images emerged in The Sun, following Kate and William’s outing this weekend in Windsor to pick up supplies from a local farm shop, with many speculating the impersonator was snapped instead.
Heidi Agan stressed she “100 percent” believes it was the real Kate in the footage as she was doing her “other job” teaching at a dance and musical theatre group.
Speaking to the Mirror, Heidi said: “My own social media has gone crazy as people think it is me, but I know it is not. I was at work at the time so I know that is not me. I 100 per cent believe that is Kate Middleton and William in that video.”
Heidi, 43, professionally takes on the role of Kate at parties, meets and greets, corporate events, and gigs as an impersonator. She says the last few months have been difficult as the public grows increasingly worried about Kate’s health.
However, the mum now feels the public need to cut Princess Kate and the Royal Family some slack and give her the time to recover.
Princess Kate underwent a pre-planned abdominal surgery procedure in January and was in hospital for 13 nights before being discharged from The London Clinic. Kensington Palace has repeatedly told the public the royal will be returning to duties after Easter.
Heidi continued: “If the surgery is something that she wanted to keep private, then they [Kensington Palace] are right not to share more details. She is a public figure but not public property, and we must respect that.”
Sharing her alibi with The Mirror, Heidi continued: “The Royal Family are just quintessentially British and I think that’s why everyone follows them. They are our constant and we are interested in them, whether we love or loathe them. I myself like them. My work is just supposed to be a bit of humour, and it’s often a surprise to the audience so it’s fun.”
The Princess of Wales impersonator has also explained how social media has become rife with conspiracy theories since the video of Kate emerged.
Crowds at her work also are joking “we’ve found Kate” whenever the mum makes an appearance at work.
Some of the mum’s 3,000 followers have previously been convinced she is the woman alongside Prince William in the recent footage that emerged this weekend. One user wrote: “How much did you get paid for pretending to be her at the farmers market?”
The latest sighting of Princess Kate came amid a slew of online conspiracy theories about the state of her health and after the release of an edited Mother’s Day picture which caused a global media storm.
Keeping it casual for the outing, Kate, 42, wore an Umbro Men’s England Rugby Icon Hoodie in black, with Adidas Ultraboost trainers, as her and Prince William carried supplies following their shopping trip.
