Princess Kate handed rare perk by late Queen during first trip to Balmoral

She wrote: “Until now the Queen had met Kate only fleetingly at the wedding of Peter and Autumn Phillips, but she went out of her way to make her feel welcome, giving her permission to take pictures at Balmoral.”

According to the author, it was not a usual thing for the late Queen to give such permissions which showed her willingness to let Kate into the inner royal circle.

Nicholl added: “As a woman who has lived her entire life in the public eye, the Queen rarely lets her guard down, and very few apart from her family and closest friends get to see the real Elizabeth.”

The Princess of Wales has showcased her photography skills many times since then.

Earlier this year, one of her family photos was shared for the very first time and was widely praised for capturing the warmth of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The picture was shared to mark what would have been Elizabeth’s 97th birthday. It was taken at Balmoral last summer as she enjoyed her final family holiday before her death in September.

It included two of her grandchildren: James, the Earl of Wessex and Lady Louise, as well as some of her great-grandchildren Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Mia, Lena and Lucas Tindall and Savannah and Isla Phillips.
