Princess Kate cared for by 'amazing and kind' nurses in rare insight into her health

Writing on her LinkedIn page, she revealed: “Prince William said that Catherine had two Filipino nurses looking after her and they were amazing and kind.”

Meanwhile, William presented an MBE to the England women’s football side’s record goalscorer, retired professional Ellen Convery – formerly White.

The ex-England footballer said she sent her “best wishes” to the King when speaking with the Prince of Wales.

She told the PA news agency: “I sent my best wishes to the King. I just think, you know, it must be a difficult time for the family. He was really lovely.”

Convery added: “It was a really nice conversation. I’ve met him a couple of times, he definitely puts you at ease.”

Later, William thanked another recipient, David Shreeve, who co-founded the Conservation Foundation charity with TV botanist David Bellamy, for his well wishes for the King and the Princess of Wales.

Shreeve was made an MBE for services to the environment. He said he spoke with the Prince of Wales about a tree he planted on the castle grounds more than 40 years ago, which kickstarted his environmental work.

He told PA: “I did say to him at the end that I wished both his wife and his dad good luck. He said he appreciated it.”

Later in the day, the heir to the throne attended London Air Ambulance’s annual fundraising gala, where he gave a speech and spoke about his family’s health scares in public for the first time.

William also thanked the public for their “kind messages of support”.

He said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the kind messages of support for Catherine and for my father, especially in recent days. It means a great deal to us all.”

He added jokingly: “It’s fair to say the past few weeks have had a rather medical focus, so I thought I’d come to an air ambulance function to get away from it all.”

Yesterday was the first time the public had seen William in several weeks, as he was last pictured on his way to visit Kate at The London Clinic on January 18.

His last public engagement before that was on January 11, when he surprised Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield by awarding them with their CBEs during a meeting in Leeds.
