Princess Anne was praised by royal fans following her appearance in London today to mark King Charles’s official birthday. The Princess Royal, in her roles as Colonel of the Blues and Royals and Gold-Stick-in-Waiting, joined the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Edinburgh on horseback this morning for her brother’s birthday parade.
Royal fans were delighted with her appearance and took to social media to praise her. One user wrote on X: “Another day, another slay for the Princess Royal.” A second one commented: “The Princess Royal never fails! Love her!”
Another fan added: “Wish she were queen! She’s the best.”
A fourth one said: “What a wonderful lady!” Another user agreed, saying: “King Charles couldn’t have a more loyal and protective bodyguard than the Princess Royal.”
A final said: “Princess Anne is magnificent, as always.”
The King’s official birthday – otherwise known as Trooping the Colour – was marked with an exquisite display of military pomp and pageantry, but at his request, it also marked a tribute to those killed in the Air India plane crash.
The King wore a black armband as he and Queen Camilla left Buckingham Palace in a carriage at the head of a procession travelling along The Mall and into Horse Guards Parade where hundreds of guardsmen were on parade.
Trooping the Colour is as much a social occasion as a ceremonial celebration of the King’s official birthday, and the stands around Horse Guards Parade were filled with around 8,000 wives, girlfriends and the parents of the guardsmen and officers on parade.
The Colour, which is the official name for the regimental flag, being trooped this year was the King’s Colour of Number 7 Company, Coldstream Guards, which makes up one part of the Foot Guards regiment as it is celebrating its 375th anniversary.
