An urgent manhunt has been launched after police appealed to the public in connection with an alleged rape of a teen girl. Thames Valley Police has launched an investigation following the alleged attack earlier this month.

The police are in search of Jamesh Doran, 23, who is wanted in connection with a rape incident that occurred on August 11 in Banbury. Mr Doran, from Kidlington, is known to frequent the North Oxfordshire and South Warwickshire areas. The police have urged that anyone with information about Doran should call 999 and “should not approach him”.

Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Becky Sargeant said: “We are urgently appealing for the public’s help in locating James Doran.

“Anyone with information about his current whereabouts should call 999. It is important that if you see him, please do not approach him, and instead call 999.

“If you have any other information on the whereabouts of James Doran please call 101 or make a report online, quoting reference 43250409668.

“Or if you do not wish to speak to the police you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, who will take your information 100% anonymously.”

He is believed to have connections to both Hillingdon in London and Leicestershire. The 23-year-old has been described as white, with short ginger or brown hair and a matching beard. He is also missing his right eye, a distinguishing physical feature that may aid in identification.
