Prince Louis's adorable nickname given to him by mum Princess Kate

Kate, Princess of Wales, recently revealed the sweetest nickname with which she calls Prince Louis – and it’s perfectly aligned with the Wales family’s love for the outdoors. The Prince and Princess of Wales only share a few, sparse details with the public about their three children to guarantee the privacy of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

However, the two doting parents have been caught at times providing little snippets about their family life.

On May 8, the final day of national celebrations for the Coronation of King Charles III, Princess Kate was overheard twice calling Prince Louis with the nickname “Lou Bug”.

As the five-year-old was pushing a wheelbarrow during a royal outing, his adoring mum Kate was heard encouraging him by saying: “Well done! Good job, Lou Bug!”

Later on the day, as the Scouts organised a fire on which the royal children and other volunteers could toast marshmallows, the princess could be heard telling her youngest child: “Pop that in the fire, Lou Bug.”

Prince William was caught on camera speaking to Scouts about his young son’s love for treats, as he joked: “You’ve made his day!”

On that Bank Holiday Monday, the Wales family had stepped out of Adelaide Cottage to take part in the Big Help Out, an initiative championed by Queen Camilla to celebrate volunteers and push Britons to find activities to take part in within their communities.

Prince William, Princess Kate, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis joined other volunteers renovating the 3rd Upton Scouts Hut in Slough.

Rolling up their sleeves, both the parents and the children were spotted shovelling the ground, varnishing a door and adding plants to the hut’s entrance, among other activities.

Prince Louis and Prince George also hopped with their father on a digger and appeared delighted to be given control of the heavy machinery.

This day out with the Scouts in Slough marked Prince Louis’s first-ever royal engagement during which he could get stuck in.

Days prior, he had attended the Coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey, while in 2022 he had attended events marking the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – including the Platinum Jubilee Pageant.

Prince Louis, who attends Lambrook School with his siblings, hasn’t been seen in public since December 25, when he attended the Christmas Day service with several other members of the Royal Family at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.
