Prince Harry 'still has huge amount of self-confidence' despite setbacks

Despite receiving a huge blow when he lost his High Court challenge against the UK Home Office over a decision to change his level of personal security for visits, Prince Harry still appears “confident” and “relaxed”, claims a body language pro.

The Duke of Sussex made two video appearances on Wednesday, after the ruling that stated he had lost his legal challenge.

The first video released showed Harry appealing for nominations for the WellChild Awards. In the clip, the Duke of Sussex encourages people to nominate inspirational children and young people with complex health needs and the outstanding people who support and care for them.

It was then followed by a surprise appearance on screen at night at the Sport Gives Back Awards in honour of Josh Boggi, a triple amputee Afghanistan veteran.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Slots, and reported in the Mirror, body language expert Darren Stanton revealed Harry came across “deeply authentic” and “passionate” about the project, which is close to his heart.

Commenting on the released video, Darren claimed the Duke of Sussex also looked directly at the camera with “great eye contact and pace”.

He also shared the tell-tale signs that prove Harry has developed “huge amounts of self-confidence” over the years, adding he “speaks from the heart” whenever the Invictus Games are mentioned.

Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014 and gained inspiration from his 2013 visit to the Warrior Games in the United States, where he witnessed the ability of sport to help veterans and their families both psychologically and physically.

The body language pro explained: “Whenever Prince Harry is talking about the Invictus Games he comes across as deeply authentic. He’s comfortable in his own skin because it’s something he can relate to having served as a former soldier. He has a lot of connections with the veterans, both in the UK and America, so it’s something he is deeply passionate about.”

He also said despite the possibility of reading his script from an autocue, he is speaking with passion. He added: “He is doing this piece to camera and likely reading an autocue, but he still comes over extremely confident – there are no stutters, pauses or glances away. He is also looking down the lens of the camera, which tells us he feels confident and relaxed whilst speaking about the topic.”

The expert added: “Harry also displays open-palm gestures and isn’t touching his face, indicating nervousness or being unsure. We no longer see him tucking his hand in his jacket for comfort, which he used to do a lot during these types of videos.”

The actions showed to the body language expert that Harry has developed a huge about of “self-confidence” over the years.

This comes as court documents from the 52-page ruling reveal the Duke of Sussex “demanded to know” who had downgraded his Home Office police protection, and the Prince asked specifically for the person’s name.

Prince Harry argued he had been treated unfairly in the changes to his police protection when he still faced security threats, with his lawyers arguing “The Duke is not asking for preferential treatment”.

The High Court judge, Sir Peter found “there has not been any unlawfulness in reaching the decision” to revise his security, adding: “Any departure from policy was justified. The decision was not irrational. The decision was not marred by procedural unfairness.”
