Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 'warming' to idea of spending Christmas with Royal Family

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “warming up” to the idea of spending their Christmas holidays with the Royal Family, a source has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not announced their festive plans for this year, however, an insider close to them previously suspected they wouldn’t decline a royal invite to Sandringham.

The last time Harry and Meghan spent Christmas with the royals was in 2018. The next year they celebrated in the US with the Duchess’s mum, Doria Ragland, before they quit their royal duties in early 2020 and moved across the pond.

But now a source claimed King Charles has “dropped enough hints that the door’s open” for a Christmas reunion. They added the monarch is “peace and positivity” among his family, something that means “everything to him”.

They told Bella magazine: “It pains him that he’s yet to meet Lilibet. He would love so much to spend time with Archie as well as Harry, whether it’s one-on-one or with Meghan there too.”

Charles would allegedly find it “devastating” if Harry and Meghan spent another Christmas away from the Royal Family. He’s said to be “hoping they’ll relent and come to visit more often as a family of four.”

The source said: “He’s hardly in a position whereby he can hop on a plane to California.” Instead, they claimed the monarch would be “willing to move mountains” to see the Sussexes in locations of their choosing in the UK, even if it means other Royal Family members aren’t in attendance.

“Charles still loves Harry greatly, and it’s his greatest hope that, at some point, they can put differences aside and move forward as a loving family”.

It comes as an insider claimed Prince William and Princess Kate would refuse to spend Christmas at Sandringham if Harry and Meghan go.

Another source suggested it would be more likely for the King to invite Harry and Meghan to Scotland over the New Year when William and Kate will be in Norfolk.

They said: “It would certainly have the advantage of killing two birds with one stone; extending an olive branch to one son without causing difficulty to the other.”

The inside added that even if they accept a Christmas invitation, it’s “unlikely they would be welcomed with open arms”.
