Prince Harry and Meghan Markle thank veterans in Canada for Invictus Games countdown

Harry then took to the slopes himself as he participated in some sit-skiing while Meghan was seen cheering her husband from the sidelines.

As he was being strapped into the ski equipment, Harry jokingly asked: “Do I need to sign a waiver?” before setting off.

Meghan then took a picture of Harry gliding down the ski slope and, in a video shared on social media, was heard saying she wanted to “show the kids” Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Afterwards, a crowd at the camp sang God Save the King to the royal couple headed to their car. Meghan smiled and waved at the group while Harry may have spoken to them.

Ivan Morera, an Invictus Games participant from the US, spoke with the media about how much he had looked forward to meeting Harry that day.

As reported by PEOPLE!, Ivans spoke of having a “lot of respect” for Harry since the Duke “understands military personnel because of his experience.”

Ivan added: “[Harry] has shown that to us by creating the Invictus Games, taking inspiration from the Warrior Games in the United States and creating an international.”

The American sportsman said that Harry had shook his hand while “saying ‘thank you for your service, and thank you for the opportunity.’”

The 2025 Invictus Games will be set in both Whistler and Vancouver, and will also be the first time the competition has featured winter sports.

Canada is a special place for the Sussex couple as Meghan was living in the country while working as an actress for the television series Suits when she first began dating Harry.

It is also the place where both Harry and Meghan took their first family holiday with Prince Harry in late 2019 on Vancouver Island, where they spent the Christmas holidays and the first few weeks of 2020.

Afterwards, the Sussexes announced they were stepping back working royals and senior members of the Royal Family.
