Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 'running out of cash' as pair run out of things to do

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s latest website sussex.com is an attempt to regenerate interest in them in the United States, according to royal author and commentator Tom Bower.

The Duke and Duchess unveiled the new site earlier this week, which consolidates their previous work on Sussex Royal and Archewell while providing a new platform for them to launch their latest projects.

This may now include Meghan’s latest podcast deal which she has signed with Lemonada Media to front a new audio series, less than one year after the collapse of the couple’s partnership with Spotify.

However Mr Bower believes it is still too late for the Sussexes to salvage their reputation following their attacks on the monarchy in their Netflix documentary series and Harry’s memoir Spare.

He wrote in the Mail: “The Sussex cupboard is starting to look a little bare. Without new sponsorships, without a fresh Hollywood deal, there are few obvious sources of the money required to maintain their luxurious lifestyle.

“The Duke and Duchess have done good business with their various claims and revelations on their Netflix documentary and in Harry’s ghosted memoir, Spare, but what more is there to say?”

Last year Meghan teased various new projects that the couple were working on, which this week seem to be coming to fruition, however there is no word on any more confirmed work with Netflix.

Archewell’s deal with the streaming giant is set to to expire next year, and there have been claims that Harry and Meghan had a number of ideas in the pipeline.

Harry’s appearance at the NFL Awards in Las Vegas last Thursday has also sparked interest in what kind of new direction the couple could be going in.

Appearing on TalkTV, royal commentator Emily Andrews said: “For the past couple of years, the narrative on both sides of the pond has been Harry whinging, telling us all about Spare, and fights over dog bowls.

“This is part of Prince Harry building a relationship with Paramount, but also trying to step away from a narrative of a whining royal. This is part of Prince Harry re-building his narrative.”
