Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gunning for glitzy deal to boost Hollywood reputation

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of trying to secure a glitzy deal to boost their reputation in Hollywood.

The couple made a surprise appearance at the film premiere for Bob Marley: One Love in Jamaica last week. So far Harry and Meghan’s major future plans remain unknown, although some fans and experts alike believe that they are hoping Hollywood could be on the cards.

Speaking to GB News about Harry and Meghan’s appearance in Jamaica, royal expert Angela Levin claims that the couple looked as though they were trying to get a job with Paramount Pictures.

Ms Levin said: “Harry and Meghan, there’s a lot of talk about why they actually went to Jamaica and that it was completely the wrong time.

“The question is, did they go there deliberately so they could speak to the prime minister and show that he would like them but not like William and Catherine who went out and 2022…

“Also, they were concerned why they were close to the Paramount boss because they’re supposed to be really with Netflix – were they trying to get a job, well, Meghan? It’s a bit unsubtle.”

Harry and Meghan posed for photographs with many people at the premiere, including the Paramount boss and Jamaican Prime Minister.

Pictures showed the pair alongside Paramount’s Brian Robbins and his wife Tracy James on the red carpet.

After Prime Minister Andrew Holness’s past comments about the country’s intention to break away from the British monarchy, Meghan and Harry’s decision to pose with them has, according to The Mirror’s royal editor Russell Myers, “set tongues wagging”.

Despite some backlash for appearing in Jamaica – especially with King Charles and Princess Kate both experiencing health concerns – the royal expert has claimed that the couple were actually invited to the film premiere.

Stating that they would be “damned if they do, damned if they don’t”, Mr Myers said: “No one expected them to pitch up in Kingston, Jamaica, nice little holiday spot for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex but they were actually invited by the film premiered producers, the production team thought that they would be a fantastic addition for the premiere.”

Meghan and Harry’s signed a deal with Netflix shortly after leaving the Royal Family, however their current contract is due to expire in 2025.

At present, it remains unknown whether their contract will be renewed.

Harry and Meghan announced their decision to step down as senior working royals in January 2020, with their final royal engagement taking place just two months later.

The couple also signed a deal with Spotify in 2020, although a mutual decision to part ways was made in 2023.
