Prince George's future school, where pupils get breathalysed and sex will get you expelled

Prince George, 10, who sits second in the line of succession, has been recently spotted viewing the school with his mother Kate recently, and the youngster looks likely to follow in her footsteps by enrolling at the school.‌

Marlborough College has an impressive list of alumni beyond Kate, which includes comedian Jack Whitehall, British public personality Sally Bercow, and Samantha Cameron, wife of former PM David Cameron.

‌With an impressive list of former pupils, Marlborough College is accustomed to being an educational home to some of Britain’s elite’s, but the school has seen its fair share of Marlborough mischief.

Pupils have been expelled for bad behaviour, which has included drugs and sex, with sister of Samantha Cameron, and former editor of the Evening Standard, Emily Sheffield, expelled after cannabis was found in her dormitory during a police raid.

Former pupils have told of some of their escapades at the independent boarding school in a recently released article in The Times. One pupil, who left Marlborough College six years ago, now works in finance.

‌They told the newspaper that every Saturday night there was a disco called Buries that sixth form students attended. Pupils were allowed to drink – but you couldn’t go overboard as you’d be breathalysed when you got back.

They said: “There was quite a lot of drinking, but you couldn’t get too pissed because you might get breathalysed… You were supposed to get breathalysed every Saturday, but it depended on who your house master was and if they liked you.”

He continued to reveal the “worst thing” a student could do – have sex. “Two prefects, star students, got caught having sex when they were 17 or 18 and were instantly expelled, which a lot of people complained about. But people definitely still had sex — they would find creative ways. They’d go to the changing room in the athletics track or something.”

The former pupil added that some students got expelled for drug use and noted that random drug tests were carried out on students.

Another former pupil, who works as a currency trader, attended the school 13 years ago. Princess Eugenie was two years above her when she attended.

“There were definitely bodyguards around, but they were very discreet. Princess Eugenie was two years above me but she behaved the same as everyone else — she was a very nice, normal, popular, sporty girl. She fitted in like everyone else”, she told the Times.

She continued: “They were very strict about parties. You weren’t allowed alcohol until sixth form, and you were monitored on how many drinks you could have and breathalysed if you were drunk. I didn’t see people doing drugs.

“There wasn’t a bullying problem that I was aware of. Bullying got taken very seriously and was strictly controlled. I didn’t experience any misogyny.”

Despite the antics, the school is highly regarded as one of the best co-educational independent schools in the country, with sprawling facilities, particularly within the sporting department, with many of the pupils partaking in extracurricular activities during their breaks.

The school houses 13 hard tennis courts and 12 all weather tennis courts, multiple football and lacrosse courts, and some of the highest quality school rugby facilities in the country.

The co-ed school houses over 1,000 pupils from age 13-18 from both the UK and overseas.
