Dad slams ‘gossiping’ school mums who mistake daughter for girlfriend

A father has slammed mothers at a local school after they thought his teenage daughter was his girlfriend.

Writing on Facebook, Ben Fisher explained that he had been having a day out with his 13-year-old daughter when he received a message from his youngest son’s mum saying she had been contacted by “multiple” people saying he had taken his son to school with a “new partner”.

Mr Fisher said the incident occurred just after he had dropped off his children off at school before spending the day with his daughter.

Mr Fisher said he later found the debacle amusing despite the mistaken identity.

Mr Fisher, alongside a photograph of him and his daughter, explained: “So the funniest thing happened the other day. This photo is of myself and my 13-year-old daughter having a little father-and-daughter day out shopping and having a bit of nice food.

“Before our day out we have to take the boys to school. Just a normal morning. However, this is the funny part.

“After the school run I then got a phone call from my youngest son’s mum saying she had been contacted by multiple people saying I had taken my son to school with a new partner. I mean come on.

“At first obviously I found this extremely amusing but now I am sat thinking what on earth is wrong with people? [sic]”

Mr Fisher admitted that he later found the funny side of the confusion. He said: “School mums in a playground really are the funniest of people. I think I have just found myself a new hobby.

“From this day onward when I feel like I need some entertainment or laughs or even just a little pick me up I may just make myself a small tub of triangle cut-out jam sarnies and a flash of Yorkshire Tea and just go sit and watch the school mums for an hour.

“They really are an entertaining bunch.”
