Queen Camilla has been undertaking solo engagements over the past few weeks as King Charles continues treatment for cancer.
She has hosted 13 engagements since the King’s diagnosis, and has since announced she will be taking a break.
Her engagements included leading the Royal Family in a memorial service for King Constantine of Greece and hosting Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska.
Camilla’s calendar shows March 11 is the date she will return for the Commonwealth Day service held at Westminster Abbey.
She is reportedly planning to spend some time with her family before heading away on a private flight.
The news of Camilla’s brief break has triggered an outpouring of support, however some have been critical of the announcement.
X (formally Twitter) user @Andym6789 wrote: “Her Majesty deserves it she’s been working flat out doing a lot of what the King would normally do”.
While @samhamilton43 posted: “‘Camilla needs a break? Don’t we all.”
Others have taken the Queen’s break as a sign the King could be doing well with his treatment.
Royal biographer Angela Levin told GB News: “My view is that King Charles insisted that she has a break.
“She is working non-stop, she has done so much in this last week. She has also been there for him all the time. I think that it is a sign that he has improved quite well.”
