Police 'seriously concerned' after mum with newborn baby in pram disappears


A mother with her newborn baby in a pram have disappeared with police “seriously concerned” about the safety of the woman and child.

Aminat, from Derby, was last seen in Cardigan Street, Chaddesden on Wednesday afternoon at around 4pm. She was seen on CCTV as she wheeled her six-week-old baby down the street, a Derbyshire Police spokesman confirmed.

The force urged anyone with information about the pair’s whereabouts to speak to police.

In an appeal the spokesman said: “We are very concerned for the safety of a missing Derby mum and baby. Aminat was last seen in Cardigan Street, Chaddesden, at around 4pm today.

“Aminat, who is believed to have taken her six-week-old baby in a pushchair with her, is around 5ft 5ins tall and is wearing a knee-length brown hijab.”

Anyone who has anyone Aminat is asked to ring 999 with reference 913-201223.
