One-pot sausage traybake is ‘delicious and so easy to make’ – takes 10 minutes to prep

Cooking doesn’t need to be a hassle when there are recipes like this sausage casserole traybake from Jane’s Patisserie.

Known for her incredible baking creations, Jane has also started to share a range of tasty meal ideas.

One that she claims is “delicious and so easy to make” is her one-pan sausage traybake.

She said: “This recipe takes minutes to throw together, cooks really easily in the oven, and then is absolutely delicious to devour. It’s an easy favourite of mine and my family, so you should definitely give it a go as well.

“This delicious savoury recipe is something that most families already make, but I wanted to inspire those who maybe haven’t tried it already, or give a little idea for dinner if you’re a bit stuck on what to make.”

This recipe serves three to four people, but the idea is that you can multiply the amount of ingredients you are using if you want to serve more.

Jane said that she sometimes serves hers with some extra green vegetables on the side, and “a good serving of thick gravy”.

Ingredients

Two onions, chopped into one inch chunks

Two large carrots, chopped into one inch chunks

Two peppers, chopped into one inch chunks

300g new potatoes, chopped into one inch chunks

500g sausages of choice

One to two tablespoons olive oil

Two teaspoons dried thyme

75g honey

Two garlic cloves, finely sliced

Salt and pepper

Method

Start by preheating the oven to 210C/190 Fan/ Gas mark 5 and grab a large oven-proof baking dish.

For those doubling the recipe to serve more people, they may want to split it across two dishes so that the dish cooks evenly.

Add the chopped onions, carrots, peppers, new potatoes and sausages to the dish, drizzle over the olive oil and honey, and sprinkle over the dried thyme and garlic.

Jane noted that she used caramelised onion sausages in her recipe, be she said that any variety can be used.

She said: “Any sausage works – whether it’s the cheapy cheap ones, chicken ones, vegetarian ones, just make sure they are regular-sized.”

Season it all with salt and pepper and toss everything together so everything is coated well.

Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, toss everything again, and bake for another 20 minutes. Once cooked, serve immediately.
