A Florida father disappeared more than two weeks ago while visiting a friend in the Northern California mountains — leaving his desperate family searching for answers.
Robert Jamieson, 45, of Milton, Fla., was last seen on April 8 when he left a friend’s home on foot in the Burnt Ranch area in Shasta-Trinity National Forest, according to the Trinity County Sheriff’s Department.
Rescue crews conducted extensive ground and drone searches in the days following his disappearance but came up empty.

Jamieson left behind his vehicle, a dog and personal belongings before vanishing, the sheriff’s department said.
He had also shown concerns “about being tracked and may have discarded his phone,” a notice from the sheriff read.
Investigators were also informed that Jamieson may have been using drugs, including stimulants.
“Additionally, he appeared to have taken steps to dispose of certain personal items before leaving the residence, the sheriff said.

His loved ones are now offering a $3,500 reward for any information that could bring him home.
A GoFundMe campaign launched to pay for a private search team described “an unimaginable crisis no family should ever face.”
The fundraiser stated that Jamieson’s close friends will travel to the area with a private investigator and attorney “to do everything possible to uncover the truth.”
“Robert is father to a young son and a caring man who has always been there for his family especially his mum which makes this even more concerning,” his cousin Lisa Payne wrote on the fundraising page.
“He and his mum shared a home and supported each other, with Robert covering the vast majority of the household expenses. His sudden disappearance has left us extremely worried and fearing the worst.
“We are determined to get answers — no matter how long it takes.”
Jamieson is described as standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 185 pounds. He was wearing a tan jacket, tan pants, black sneakers and a black “Rooster Bar” baseball cap.
