'My entitled neighbour kept stealing my packages – but I got the final laugh'

An entitled neighbour got the lesson of a lifetime after she spent months stealing packages from a woman living next to her.

A 30-year-old woman shared her story on social media, explaining that she is a hobbyist and regularly orders additions to her collection.

But the pastime soon got disrupted after she realised her neighbour would regularly keep her packages when delivered during her absence.

She wrote on Reddit: “Since she moved in I have changed that with the post services but unfortunately there are few of the delivery people who have not had the information.

“Sadly I have had a few parcels delivered to the entitled neighbour and when I have gone to collect them she has denied knowledge or given me an already opened package and used the excuse that her son accidentally opened it.”

But the entitled neighbour soon learned not to keep what’s not hers after one particular delivery was handed to her despite the original poster being home.

The woman had planned to be home to personally collect the package and immediately went over to her neighbour’s house when she realised the mishap.

Her neighbour, however, was not pleased to see her and denied receiving any package.

The woman said: “Before I could finish she slammed the door in my face. I was obviously annoyed and knocked on her door again and waited but she completely ignored me for at least 10 minutes.”

In frustration, she returned home and called the courier service to retrieve her property. As she was on hold, she heard a loud bang on her front door – it was her neighbour and her crying son.

The woman shared that her neighbour started shouting at her, screaming: “There’s a f***ing huge spider loose in my house because of you!!”

She then revealed in her post: “Yes I collect tarantulas, true spiders and lots of other inverts.”

Recounting the incident, she said: “At first I was scared that she had harmed one of my new tarantulas, but I couldn’t keep the sarcasm out of my voice when I made her admit that she did get my package.

“I closed my door and talked to the operator who had heard everything, since I had already told them what was in the package, they were laughing down the phone. I told them I’d have to go rescue my spider from the crazy Karen.”

She managed to save her tarantula, which was unharmed, and gave her neighbour a piece of her mind for nicking her parcel. She warned her neighbour, saying if she ever pinches another of her parcels, she’ll ring the police.

Wrapping up her story, she said: “Since then I’ve contacted every courier service in my area and demanded that they never leave anything at her address again.

“There has been one incident where a package from work was delivered to her but as soon as I knocked on her door she just handed me the unopened box and closed the door in my face, much to her son’s disappointment if his yelling was anything to go by.

“Moral of the story is don’t open someone else’s package, it might just contain giant spiders!”

People on Reddit were quick to show their support for the revenge story. One person commented: “I think her son needs a glitter bomb addressed to them!”

Another shared: “Wow! This one even beats the time I wrapped up cat poop in an old Amazon box addressed to me and left it at the front door for my downstairs neighbour to steal.

“This is absolute GOLD! And yes, I found the box of cat shit opened on the top of our shared outdoor bin later that day and never had another package stolen.”
