Mum shares three hacks to make your bathroom smell 'amazing for longer'

Like the kitchen, the bathroom is one room in the house that requires a bit of extra attention when it comes to chores.

And despite our best cleaning efforts it might not always smell as nice as we’d want it to.

Luckily one cleaning expert has shared three simple hacks to make your bathroom smell “amazing”.

Chantel Mila, known on social media for her styling, organising and cleaning hacks, revealed her best bathroom hacks on TikTok.

Speaking to her 1.4 million followers, the mum said: “Three hacks to make your bathroom smell amazing for longer.”

These hacks include:

  • Hanging a eucalyptus plant in the shower
  • Making your own bathroom spray
  • Using denture tablets in the sink.

She said: “Hang eucalyptus in your shower. The steam releases oils as you shower.”

For her homemade bathroom spray she recommended mixing water, rubbing alcohol and essential oils together.

“Mix water, rubbing alcohol and essential oils for a bathroom spray,” Chantel said.

When asked where to find rubbing alcohol, Chantel told followers to find it among first aid products.

She said: “You’ll find it at your local supermarket in the first aid aisle.”

Commenters also advised each other not to use certain essential oils if they have pets.

One said: “Be careful if you have pets though!”

Some essential oils, such as peppermint can be harmful to cats and dogs.

Although there is plenty of information online about what is safe to pets, if you are unsure it is best to avoid them altogether.

For her third and final hack, Chantel explained: “Soak denture tablets in your sink to whiten your sink and deodorise drains.”

Denture tablets are cheap to purchase from most chemist and beauty shops.

Chantel added: “Which one will you try first?”
