Meghan Markle’s ‘secret plot’ to win back British Royal Family fans as she hires PR guru

Meghan Markle has “already hired” a new UK-based PR guru to help her boost her image in Britain, as the former Suits actress is gearing up for a complete overhaul in the country.

The new PR executive will reportedly be in charge of UK and European media and will report back to Meghan and Prince Harry’s PR team in the US, according to the Telegraph.

The latest news comes after reports on Thursday suggested the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could venture back across the Atlantic as Meghan is seeking “professional help to gain positive publicity” for both herself and the Sussexes’ foundation, Archewell.

It has long been speculated that the Sussexes would be relaunching their brand in 2024 after a turbulent 2023, something they initiated with the launch of their new website, Sussex.com, back in February and their latest move could suggest they are looking into branching out their rebrand in Harry’s home country too.

Their latest move also marks the first time they felt they needed an employee in the UK since their sensational departure from the Royal Family and move to the US in 2020.

But according to the Telegraph, it is thought to reflect their growing workload as they increase their profiles and independent ventures.

Meanwhile, despite Harry and Meghan’s latest reported efforts to branch out to the UK, many PR people are apprehensive about taking them on as they fear they may not listen to their advice, according to an insider.

The source told the Mail: “The Royal Family is looking short-staffed and quite elderly.

“The Sussexes have a popularity problem and can see there is an opportunity to step in to fill a vacuum over here with their own work.

“There is also growing noise stateside that Harry would like to carry out duties on behalf of his father again.

They added: “American stars also often expect their PRs to spend their time shouting at people – that’s not going to appeal either in the UK where things are done rather differently.”

Another PR expert agreed and told the publication: “This is a s**t sandwich that many senior PR people will not be willing to eat. Many will turn it down.

“Representing the couple in the UK is a tantalising thought but they don’t have a reputation for listening to advice. What would be the point?”
