Meghan Markle’s hidden ‘gold mine’ could instantly solve Sussexes’ ‘financial problems’

Meghan Markle is potentially sitting on a “gold mine” amid the Sussexes’ reported financial issues, with the couple believed to even be looking at downsizing their California home after welcoming their daughter Lilibet.

As their Netflix contract nears its end, the public is waiting with bated breath to see what the former royal couple will do next, with the likes of endorsements and Hollywood returns being suggested as the most likely options for the pair.

However, one expert claimed the former Suits star could be sitting on an unexpected “gold mine” that could keep her family afloat as they figure out their next move.

Royal expert Tom Bower believes the mother-of-two can mimic her husband’s success with his memoir Spare, which earned a Guinness World Record, but could also stir an equal amount of controversy.

Prince Harry’s controversial book became the fastest-selling non-fiction book since records began and earned the couple $20million in advance as part of a multi-book deal according to The New York Times.

The royal expert told TalkTV that Meghan’s autobiography may be “the only thing she has got left” to reap some hefty figures.

He added: “She’ll be able to spell out an amazing story… to increase her income.”

The literary potential comes after Meghan and Harry’s entertainment industry breakthrough, Archewell Productions, is said to be facing financial difficulties following the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year.

A source told Express that the couple will be facing a “make-or-break year” in 2024 with hopes they can cover the cost gap in the production company while also managing the end of their Netflix deal.

The couple signed a five-year contract with Netflix in 2020, reportedly worth £78million, when they first moved to California but have so far only released one miniseries for the streaming giant.

However, the six-episode series titled Harry and Meghan was ultimately a resounding success for both its creators and the platform as it became the second-most-watched docuseries in Netflix’s history according to Tatler.

Prince Harry and Meghan are now reportedly producing a film adaptation of the best-selling novel Meet Me at The Lake, which Netflix bought the rights for.
