Meghan Markle met with silence over one remark about Royal Family tradition

Meghan Markle’s single-word comment about a Royal tradition was met with an awkward silence.

Meghan and Prince Harry had just returned from their luxury honeymoon in 2018 when they attended the Trooping the Colour ceremony to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s official birthday.

This was Meghan’s first time on the Buckingham Palace balcony. However, things got tense when Meghan shared her thoughts about the event.

Princess Kate asked Meghan what she thought, but was taken aback by Meghan’s one-word response: “Colourful.”

According to Harry’s memoir, this led to an uncomfortable silence.

Harry also claimed that his brother Prince William and Princess Kate stereotyped Meghan, with Prince William calling her “difficult”.

The Sussexes’ relationship with the Royal Family deteriorated and they stepped down from their duties in 2020.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who currently reside in an £11.8million mansion in Montecito, California, are reportedly planning to move to a more affordable £3million home in Malibu.

The couple is said to be eyeing a plot of land where they can build a 10,000 square foot home, reducing their travel time to Los Angeles from three hours to just 40 minutes.

Meghan also has fond childhood memories of Malibu, with her step-brother, Thomas Markle Jnr, recalling her fun beach dates at The Will Rogers Beach, near her Woodland Hills family home.
