Meghan Markle believed to be 'mocking' King Charles with subtle gesture

Meghan Markle is thought to have been “mocking” King Charles by onlookers with others questioning if it was intended as an “olive branch”.

The controversial royal was seen out and about on Monday, December 4, in Santa Barbara, California, in workout gear and a number of luxury pieces of jewellery.

One of which was Princess Diana’s watch and the other a Bentley & Skinner diamond tennis bracelet with 92 round cut diamonds, thought to be worth at least £4,900.

This particular item of jewellery was given to Markle as a gift from His Majesty on the eve of her wedding to Prince Harry back in May 2018.

She also wore her Cartier Love Bracelet, leading some to either see it as a subtle message of support or her way of making fun of the King instead.

Believing the latter, many took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their views.

One user wrote: “Support! More like rubbing his face in it! This is a paid pap walk of a narcissist!”

Another said: “Is she offering him an ‘olive branch’? Or is she mocking him…”

“She’s mocking him, just like she did with the titles”, a fellow user pointed out.

While a fourth added: “She’s mocking him. Like her brother said, she will never stop until KC does something to stop her.”

The former Suits star was last seen wearing the bracelet during a hike with friends when she decided not to attend her father-in-law’s coronation in London.

Once again, the Duchess of Sussex was at the centre of controversy when journalist Omid Scobie’s book Endgame came out at the end of last month.

In 2021, during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Markle and Prince Harry revealed two members of the royal family had raised “concerns” of how dark their son Prince Archie would be while she was pregnant.

The couple hadn’t shared the names of those who had made racial comments but they were published in the Dutch translation of Scobie’s book.

Most of the British press chose not to publicise who allegedly made the remarks but Piers Morgan decided to reveal all on his TalkTV Uncensored show.

Markle, Prince Harry and the rest of the Royal Family have not released a statement regarding the issue.
