Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been cautioned against issuing a “performative” statement regarding Princess Kate and King Charles’s health issues by a royal commentator.
Both the Princess of Wales and King Charles have undergone hospital treatment for separate health concerns in the past week.
But an expert believes a public statement by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be the wrong move.
Royal author Victoria Arbiter told GB News: “I don’t see why Harry and Meghan should be expected to make a public statement.
“It would be performative at best, and as history has shown when they do speak out, they’re criticised for making it all about themselves, and when they don’t, they’re accused of being uncaring.

The Duke of Sussex faced criticism for not mentioning his father or sister-in-law during his acceptance speech at the Living Legends of Aviation Awards.
Earlier this week, Prince Harry and Meghan travelled to Jamaica for the film premiere of “Bob Marley: One Love.”
Despite their public appearances, neither the Duke nor the Duchess commented on the health of the Princess of Wales or King Charles.
Insiders revealed that Harry and Meghan privately reached out to the King and Kate, offering their support.
A source informed The Mirror: “The King and the Princess of Wales have received support from Prince Harry and Meghan regarding their health. The Duke and Duchess contacted both parties in different ways to pass on their concern and best wishes.”
