Joe Biden's disapproval rating mapped as US voters turn on unpopular President

A new bombshell map shows a massive decline in the approval ratings of President Joe Biden as every American state reveals that most voters are not happy with his performance.

The political map, which uses data from Civiqs and was last updated on Sunday, shows that registered voters of all ages and genders disapprove of his presidency. As we approach the 2024 election, Biden’s net approval rating stands at a lowly 22%.

More than half (57%) of the total electorate are not pleased with the job the Democrat is doing as President of the United States, while only 35% approve. The data reveals that 73% of Democrats approve of Biden, but a whopping 96% of Republicans disapprove. Additionally, 65% of independents are also not satisfied with the job the Pennsylvania native has done so far in the Oval Office. Since August 2021, Biden’s approval ratings have been on a downward trend, according to Newsweek.

In Maryland, he is also viewed more positively, albeit narrowly, with 46% approval compared to 45% disapproval. Similarly, in Massachusetts, 45% of voters approve of Biden, but 44% disapprove.

These three states are known to be strongly democratic and Biden won all three in his successful 2020 election, securing over 60% of the vote. However the situation is vastly different in most others.

For instance, only 19% of West Virginia voters approve of his performance, with 75% disapproving. In Wyoming, 76% of voters disapprove of Biden, with only 21% approving. North Dakota (74% disapproval to 21% approval), Idaho and Oklahoma (73% disapproval to 20% approval), and Kentucky (71% disapproval to 21% approval) show similar patterns regarding the President’s low popularity ratings.

The people living in these states showed strong support for Trump in the 2020 elections, with over 60% of voters choosing him. This confirmed their status as Republican strongholds.

Looking at past election patterns, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania could be important swing states in the 2024 vote. Overall, Biden currently has a net disapproval rating in these states, but it’s not as severe as in many traditionally red states.

In Florida, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, the President has a net approval rating of 27%, meaning nearly a third of people view him positively, compared to the 60% who have an unfavourable opinion of Biden.

Biden’s net approval rating is similar in Michigan, but young voters there have voiced their disapproval of his handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict. In Nevada and North Carolina, the President has a net approval rating of 23% and 22% respectively.
