Beijing sees alarming spike in Covid cases following Chinese New Year

Beijing is witnessing a notable increase in COVID-19 cases, as reported by the Epoch Times, known for its critical stance against the Chinese Communist Party.

According to the Epoch Times, health officials in Beijing have admitted to a resurgence of the COVID-19 epidemic following the Chinese New Year holiday (February 9–17). Residents in Beijing and East China reported a surge in infections and an uptick in deaths during the holiday week.

“The Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on February 22 that respiratory infectious diseases in Beijing are currently caused by both influenza and COVID-19,” the report stated. “Influenza has shown a slight downward trend recently, while COVID-19 continues to rise.”

A resident of Beijing informed The Epoch Times that post-Chinese New Year, “the outbreak is not diminishing, but has become more severe.”

The source added that medical personnel, including frontline nurses and doctors, allegedly remain uninformed about the true extent of the situation by the authorities.

Despite the surge in COVID-19 cases, many states in the United States have made no-excuse mail-in ballots a permanent feature in their election procedures, despite concerns about election integrity raised by experts.
