Japan earthquake video shows entire building collapse after huge tremors rock nation

A horrifying video shows an entire building collapse after huge tremors rocked Japan.

Earlier today the country was hit by a massive 7.6 magnitude earthquake that was felt as far away as Tokyo. Following the tremors a “major tsunami warning” was issued along the west coast.

Japan’s Meteorological Agency encouraged people to quickly leave the Ishikawa prefecture and head inland. Niigata, Toyama, and Yamagata were also given a tsunami warning.

Following the warning Public broadcaster NHK said: “All residents must evacuate immediately to higher ground.”

According to reports, the earthquake struck at 4.10pm local time. Japan’s Meteorological Agency said it happened at a shallow depth and had a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 on its scale.

A government spokesperson said nuclear power plants in the area had not reported any irregularities and said residents in coastal areas should get to high ground. They said: “Every minute counts. Please evacuate to a safe area immediately.”

The Guardian reported that the first reports of injuries are coming in and that fires have broken out in some places.
